Help Stormi get surgery to prevent early Arthritis

Stormi is our gentle giant, 10-month-old Bullmastiff/Rottweiler cross who needs surgery on his right hind leg to correct osteochondrosis, a disease that can lead to him developing severe arthritis.

We are please asking for £2,500 to help with Stormi’s surgery!

We adopted Stormi three months ago from an owner who could no longer keep him. He has spent most of his early life being moved from home to home, including spending time with an owner who used to beat him. On the days before we adopted him, he had been left alone in a garden at stranger’s house for three days, only giving him water and food.

As such, Stormi has come to us a very anxious dog, fearful of many things but in the last three months has started to open up into a very loving and gentle giant.

Unfortunately, on the day we adopted him we noticed his back right leg to be abnormally swollen at the joint and causing him discomfort and the vet confirmed after an X-ray that he has osteochondrosis, a condition that affects the joints of young, large dog breeds.

With this condition, the surface of the joint has failed to convert from cartilage into bone and has formed a painful, thickened cartilage that will need to be removed by surgery.
