On July 27th, our lives were turned upside down when <strong>ICE kidnapped Freddy outside his place of work - they are now threatening to deport him, which would indefinitely separate him from his wife and 6-year-old daughter.</strong>

Though Freddy is unable to reach out for help, we are doing so on his behalf so our cousin can focus on being united with his family and finally wipe the tears off his baby's face, who misses her dad so much. <strong>The next 48 hours are critical to help stop ICE from deporting Freddy. </strong>

<div>Freddy has always been a simple man (in the best way). He is soft-spoken, kind, hard-working and a father who puts his family above everything, especially his 6-year-old daughter Belen and wife, who mean the world to him.

<div>On July 27th, Freddy's wife received the call she most feared: ICE had taken Freddy. Plain-clothed ICE agents approached our cousin while he was taking the trash out of his workplace building in Westchester. ICE did not have a court order for Freddy as he has no criminal record. Instead, ICE agents racially profiled, surrounded, and kidnapped our cousin off the street. Freddy has been an honest and dependable worker, showing up everyday to help repair and maintain buildings with gratitude for having a job that can help him provide for his family.

<div>Freddy first came to the United States 24 years ago, searching for better opportunities and a means to support his mom and siblings back home in Ecuador. After years of hard work and marrying the love of his life, Freddy was finally in a position to file for his permanent residency. While spending thousands of dollars in legal fees to work through the immigration process, Freddy and his wife accomplished their dream: they were in love, were blessed with a beautiful daughter and had recently bought a home in Connecticut. All that was left was for the federal government to approve their residency application - a process that is still underway but has encountered several delays due to this current administration.

<div>Our family’s goal is to help build their dream back together and more importantly ensure that our Belencita is raised by her mother and father, together. As of July 28th, Freddy is currently being held at Delaney Hall, a detention center known for inhumane treatment and hostile living conditions.

<div>Over the last few years, Freddy and Isabella have spent thousands on legal fees to get their residency papers in order. Their attorney has estimated that it will cost an additional $20,000 to help expedite this process and prevent his deportation. The additional financial burden is an impossible weight for Isabella to bear, since Freddy was their sole provider.

Después de muchos años de trabajo duro y de casarse con el amor de su vida, por fin estaba en condiciones de solicitar su residencia permanente. Tras invertir miles de dólares en trámites legal y abogados para avanzar en su proceso migratorio, Freddy y su esposa lograron construir la vida con la que siempre soñaron: formaron una familia llena de amor, fueron bendecidos con una hermosa hija y recientemente habían comprado una casa en Connecticut. Lo único que faltaba era que el gobierno federal aprobara su solicitud de residencia, un proceso que aún está en marcha pero que ha sufrido varios retrasos debido a la actual administración.
