While the surgery was absolutely worth it—because I am finally free from the excruciating pain that affected not just my back but also my legs—I didn’t realize just how much I would have to pay out of pocket afterward.

<div> Since the surgery, I’ve been receiving bill after bill. Physical therapy is ongoing, and I have several doctor visits and copays piling up, along with a significant hospital copay. On top of that, there are pharmacy bills for the medications I need during my recovery. I am currently on social security, and these unexpected expenses have been draining my finances by the second week of each month, making it difficult to keep up with my regular bills as well.
