<div>My name is George, and I’ve had the privilege of knowing Steve and his son, Cayden, for many years. I’ve coached Cayden alongside Steve since Cayden was a little boy, and I’ve seen firsthand the love, commitment, and strength that define their bond.

<div>Steve is the kind of person who always shows up for others in life, at work, and on the pitch. He’s never been one to ask for help, but today he desperately needs it.

<div>A few years ago, Steve and Cayden lost Cayden’s mother to colon cancer. Since then, Steve has raised Cayden as a single father, giving everything to keep him steady at school, on the football pitch, and with a roof over his head. Recently, Steve underwent surgery to remove a kidney tumor, and he’s been dealing with constant pain and complications. He continues to face health challenges, including lesions on his liver and a lung nodule. These require ongoing scans, specialists, and therapy, much of which he can only access through private care.

<div>Because of his illness and the struggle to work consistently, despite his best efforts, Steve is trying to find any way to support them. They are now facing eviction and losing their home, which carries severe consequences: without a safe place to live, stability for Cayden is at risk, and it would make Steve’s recovery and return to work even harder.

<div>Despite this, his focus remains on Cayden who just turned 16. Cayden has shown remarkable resilience, earning a place at Brentford FC’s academy after previous stints with FC Metz in France and West Ham United. Football has been his outlet through grief and his path forward. He trains five days a week, maintains a 4.0 GPA, and is starting a sports diploma program. And with fall here and weather changing he urgently needs warmer clothes.

<div>Steve has worked as a respected creative lead, director of photography, and producer across film, TV, and major brands. But like many self-employed creatives, health crises don’t come with a safety net, and the family’s savings are gone.

<div>Steve is doing everything he can to return to work and rebuild, but he’s reached a point where he can’t do it alone. Steve is a proud and determined person with a strong work ethic; asking for help doesn’t come easily to him. But Cayden must come first, and without family support, he has turned to friends for help.
