<div>Steve Murphy is one of the best people you will ever meet. For those that know him, know that he is passionate about his family and friends above all else.

<div>He has been there for all of those in his life, and now he needs our help.

<div>In November of 2020, he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It is a central nervous system variant, which means that, not only is it blood cancer, it also attacks different parts of his nervous system at different times. 
</div>

</div>
<div>The cancer has spread to his brain and spinal cord.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He is currently undergoing experimental treatments to combat this disease at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, VA , since he cannot receive these treatments in his home town of Fredericksburg, VA. He is expecting at least another 8 months of treatment. Due to the aggressive nature of this variant, there is a 25% success rate.

<div>This doesn't deter him from driving 3 hours every Tuesday to stay overnight at the hospital for up to 48 hours, while he receives a double lumbar puncture of chemo therapy.
</div>

</div>
<div>These bills add up quickly, and are not cheap. Unfortunately, his job and insurance will not cover the expenses. 
</div>

</div>
<div>That is because the moving company that he was a General Manager at for the last 5 years decided that he wasn't beating cancer fast enough and sent him an email while he was in the hospital the week before Christmas. They stated that they were putting him on unpaid leave for 6 months up to a year. In that email they  stated that this was his only option or he could resign.

<div>He is now forced to shoulder this financial burden until his disability kicks in June of 2022.
</div>
