HELP STACY GO TO FILM SCHOOL
Donation protected
This fall, I am about to start a new chapter as a Directing Fellow at AFI Conservatory, class of 2021. The past six years, I have worked an office job at this very school while pursuing my own acting career- a school that has been a dream for many people around the world, a school that has produced an admirable list of alumni, such as Denise Davis, Melina Matsouka, Rachel Morrison and Patty Jenkins. And I just joined their ranks!
On March 15th, 2019, I got the news that I was accepted to both Directing and Producing. For almost a month I was in disbelief, afraid to tell anyone, afraid that this was still a dream. But it’s not. Among the twenty-eight directors in this incoming class, Stacy Pascal Gaspard is one of them. I, a black Latin, Caribbean woman, am getting an education to hone my craft for the next two years. I will be a force to be reckoned with. More so than I already am.
However, I cannot do this alone. With a hefty price tag of $120,773, I am aiming to raise a total of $30,000 in order to help toward my school expenses. All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated. I know that with the support of friends, family and kind strangers, I will be able to start this chapter on the right foot.
Asking is hard, but I want to be able to know I did all I could to fight for this dream.
Also my supporters will be invited to follow my journey and if in LA the premier of my thesis :)
