Hi, I am doing this fundraiser to help a dear friend of mine, her name is Stacy Worton. 7 years ago, Stacy was in a car accident and since then has been paralyzed from the waist down. Due to her circumstances, Stacy is unable to work and has very minimal income. Monday evening, her horse Tache that she has owned for 14 years became severely sick. She rushed her to Blue Ridge in Charlottesville hoping to save her life. After extensive testing, the vets still weren't sure if the cause was enteritis or severe colic, but she was extremely dehydrated and in acute liver and kidney failure. With only a 20% chance she would make it through the night, Stacy headed to a nearby hotel as it was too late to drive home. She checked her phone almost every hour that night hoping not to receive that dreaded phone call but also not wanting to miss it if it came. Come Tuesday morning, Tache was improving her numbers had gone down, she was brighter and begging for crutches again. Stacy went to visit her before heading home to Farmville with plans to return Wednesday morning. Early Wednesday morning she received a call that Tache had taken a turn for the worst. She had a seizure and her numbers were falling, Stacy had to make a decision that every animal lover hates, but she knew she didn't want her to suffer anymore. Stacy lost her other horse, Tache's best friend only 2 months prior due to her cushings and repeated laminitis flare ups. She is now struggling with the vet bills from both horses. She did everything she could for both of them until the end and now she needs us to step up and lend a hand.

She currently serves on the board of Heartland Horse, helps children with special needs and works with Lonesome Dove who support and work with our veterans. Please help us give back to a woman who has already given this community so much. Every little bit count, whether it's $1 or $100, it will all go towards covering the cost of Tache's vet bills.
