Sponsor a Child's Education provides sponsorship for secondary school education to South Sudanese refugee students in need from Kakuma Refugee Camp. We are currently sponsoring David, Gattong, and Gatwech at Lodwar High School where they are receiving an excellent education. However, due to the pandemic, we have not been able to hold fundraisers needed to continue their sponsorship.

We need your help! Donate towards our cause to help sponsor our students and change their lives with the invaluable gift of education. 

All funds will go directly towards sponsoring David, Gattong, and Gatwech's education by paying for their tuition fees, textbooks, school uniforms, and school supplies.

About Us
Sponsor a Child's Education (SCE) is a club at the University of British Columbia. Our founder, a former refugee herself, received a generous sponsorship to attend school in Canada, and established SCE in hopes of paying forward the blessing of education. We are an entirely student-led initiative, with the goal of sponsoring secondary school education for South Sudanese refugee students in need, from the UNHCR Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya. Our students are bright, passionate, and ambitious, but however are unable to afford secondary school fees without sponsorship.

Following the recent graduation of our previously sponsored students, we are now sponsoring David, Gattong, and Gatwech at Lodwar High School, where they are receiving an excellent education. Please feel free to visit our website for more information about SCE and our students.
