Soul & Smoke, a division of catering group Feast & Imbibe, is currently creating free meals for those in need. Since March 17th, over 13,000 meals have been given out!
Soul & Smoke delivers about 200 meals daily in Evanston to those affected by COVID-19 and also distributes through IGrow Chicago in Englewood. In addition, they deliver to about 4 hospital departments per day to feed the staff working in COVID-19 units. Finally, they have been sponsored in part by World Central Kitchen to provide 200-400 meals per day to both those in need and healthcare workers.
So many people during this tumultuous period have had it really tough, so Soul & Smoke is reaching out to them through heartfelt meals. From hospitals to fellow restaurant employees in the Evanston area, Soul & Smoke has been tirelessly working to expand their reach to help as many people as possible. Over the past couple of months, I've seen so much sadness, and I've witnessed many people struggling to put food on the table. When I saw what Soul & Smoke was doing to help our local Chicagoland communities in any way they could, I just had to voice my support.
