Sophie has been my loyal companion and emotional support dog since she was just twelve weeks old, and she’s been by my side ever since. Now, at almost ten years old, she’s not just my dog—she’s family to both me and my 89-year-old mother. We live together in a 50+ community, where Sophie was approved to stay with us as my emotional support animal.
Since moving in March 2025, My Mother has been hospitalized over ten times, and unfortunately, some elderly residents have made false accusations about her behavior. There was one incident where Sophie bit another dog, but my insurance covered all the medical costs for the other pet. Despite this, we’ve now received notice that unless Sophie is removed, we will be evicted from our home.
We’ve proposed a solution: if Sophie completes a four-week training course, she’ll be allowed to stay. The only thing standing in our way is the cost of this training, which is more than we can afford right now. Every dollar raised will go directly to paying for Sophie’s training, giving her the chance to stay with the only family she’s ever known. Sophie has only known me and my mother, and I can’t imagine life without her. As a Christian, I would be so grateful for your support to help keep Sophie with us. Your kindness would mean the world to us, and I will be heartbroken without her.
