<div>Dear Crew,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It is cyclone season in the Southern Hemisphere and Songbird and I find ourselves in New Zealand, stuck in a marina faced with much-needed repairs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As many of you might already know, Songbird's Yanmar YSE12 diesel engine has been totally broken for about a year, and I have sailed from Mexico to New Zealand without any sort of inboard power.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As I look west, towards Indonesia and the Java Sea, I know that a reliable engine will be required to get through these notoriously windless waters.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My plan is to purchase a <strong>Beta 14 engine here in New Zealand</strong>, but unfortunately, monetizing 915k followers on Instagram and 1M followers on TikTok has proven to be incredibly difficult when resisting the monetary temptation to cover my accounts with ads and sponsorships that don't relate to my core mission of sailing and surviving without unnecessary possessions.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Below is a list of all of the necessary repairs that Songbird requires at this point in my circumnavigation. With your help, if I am able to afford all of these repairs, I will be able to go back to living on about $100 a month until my next checkpoint, which will likely be in Phuket, Thailand, where I will do another round of repairs before I launch across the Indian Ocean.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>List of costs:</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>$575 a month for yard fees
</div>
<div>$400 New anchor chain and rode 7mm
</div>
<div>$200 New cabin floor
</div>
<div>$70 New hatch seal
</div>
<div>$900 Install AIS (requirement for Indonesian waters)
</div>
<div>$550 Replace steel propane tank with aluminum
</div>
<div>$140 Replace galley foot pump
</div>
<div>$8000 New engine
</div>
<div>~$400 New propeller
</div>

</div>
<div>$550 New autotiller
</div>
<div>$40 Kicker bracket
</div>
<div>$175 New fabricated spreaders
</div>
<div>$20 New spreader booties
</div>
<div>$600 New bottom paint
</div>
<div>$Unknown New dinghy (potential sponsorship)
</div>
<div><strong>Total: $12,270</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Throughout the last season, I have been blown away by all of the support and kindness that I have been shown by the amazing communities on Instagram and TikTok. There isn't a day that goes by that I take my privilege for granted. Asking for funds from you is incredibly difficult for me. However, as my finances stand now, <strong>I am far from being able to cover these costs myself.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Donating to this GoFundMe, even a few dollars, would mean the world to me.</strong> Alternatively, you can go to the link in any of my bios on my accounts to find my Venmo, PayPal, and CashApp.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your generosity and thank you for joining me on this adventure around the world!
</div>
