<div>Hello all! Smokey Blase is a friend indeed to all who frequented his music venue pub “Smokey’s Place” for many years. Sadly Smokey’s fight with cancer during the pandemic forced Smokey’s Place doors to permanently close in early 2021. Smokey’s legacy of The Blues Jam and Rockpile live on and he remains a constant friend to all and supporter of musicians, live music and local venues which support the musicians so beloved at Smokey’s Place. He gave us all a place to call home and now he needs us more than ever. Smokey has battled cancer since 2016, losing a kidney in the process, and after beating various forms of the disease, his fight is not over. Unfortunately he now has stage 4 lung cancer which has metastasized to his brain. Medical costs are rising and he’s once again in for the fight of his life. This fund raiser precedes a large benefit that is being planned for the fall and our hope is to raise as much money as we can to assist our dear friend in battling this terribly cruel illness. Our hope is that his needs be met so that he not have additional stressors during the fight against this cruel and unusual disease.
