I’m reaching out to ask for support for my daughter, Skye. She is an amazing, bright, and unique child who brings so much joy into our lives. When she was 4 I started to suspect she may have Autism, I reached out to her school and asked for their help or advice. I didn't realise how hard it would be to get them to believe me. They always seemed doubtful because she didn't exhibit the same behaviour in school. As it turns out, girls with Autism typically 'mask' in school or public, and are able to act how they feel they are supposed to. I fought for 3 years before she finally got referred for the Autism pathway by school. In that time, her friendships, education and her confidence suffered. She has been on the pathway for 2 years now and I have been told it could be another 3 years. So I started researching charities that can help get an NHS approved Autism Assessment and I found one that is part funded. Getting a professional assessment is the first important step toward understanding her needs and making sure she receives the right support to thrive.

Unfortunately, the cost of the assessment is £500 and it’s not something we can cover on our own right now. Early assessment can make such a difference in helping her access resources, therapies, and support that will give her the best chance to grow with confidence and happiness.

Asking for help is not easy, but I know this assessment could be life-changing for Skye. Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward covering the cost of her autism assessment. Even if you’re not able to give financially, sharing this campaign with others would mean the world to us.
