<div>Unfortunately Monday morning our sister was awoken by her apartment engulfed in smoke and the fire alarms going off, she acted quick to get her daughter and herself out of the apartment. She held her daughter out the window trying to get help when two passing citizens stopped and caught our niece from the second floor and attempted to catch our sister however she unfortunately jumped too soon acting in fight or flight and broke her pelvic bone and fractured her lower back landing on a sprinkler as well. She has other injuries as well like burns on her hands and bruising all over. She is likely going to need surgery as well as physical therapy to regain function and learn to walk again. It seems there was nothing salvageable in the apartment so they will likely be starting from scratch.

<div>We set up this page seeking any help getting them back on their feet moving forward from this horrific event as my sister, a single mother, will be on bed rest after this and her daughter is only 2.
