Help Simone Study Abroad in Italy!

I’m very excited to announce that I have been accepted and will be studying abroad at Florence University of the Arts in Florence, Italy for 3 months during the Summer of 2019! I won't be able to do it without your help though! I have started this campaign in hopes of raising as much money as I can to fund my experience abroad! Any donation or share of my campaign/video helps, and for every $75 I earn, I will be donating 1 hour of my time to a local nonprofit/charity in my area! Be sure to check back for updates on my volunteer work and progress! I am very blessed and very excited for this opportunity, and I can’t wait to see what this journey has in store for me! For those of you who don’t know me, I thought I would share with you a little bit about myself...
I am the product of the strongest woman I know, my mother. When my father left our family and the country when I was just five years old, my mother was left to raise my brother and me as a single mother without any child support. No matter how tight money got, she always provided for us even if that meant she had to go without dinner for the night. Not only did she prove her strength and resilience through always providing for us and being the best mother she could possibly be through every up and down, but in doing so, she shaped us into the people we are today. I owe everything I am and everything I’ve accomplished to her, and I hope to someday be at least half the woman she is.
In December 2016, shortly after graduating a semester early, I ventured across the world to New Zealand in hopes of putting the past behind us and building a relationship with my father. Though that didn’t work out as I had hoped, I still had an unforgettable experience spending time and building bonds with the rest of my extended family and friends. That trip definitely sparked my urge to travel and see more of the world.
Fast forward to present time, I am currently a sophomore at Western Kentucky University. I do not live the typical college lifestyle. I balance working a full time job while being a full time student so that I can pay my way through school on my own. It’s the least I can do to show my mom how much I’ve appreciated the sacrifices she’s made for me over the years. Though things can get pretty busy at times, I am proud to say that I have gotten through a year of college so far completely debt free and all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA!
I have no doubt that I will take this work ethic with me to FUA. I am so excited to see what Florence has in store for me! I am planning to take Marketing classes while abroad, and I can’t wait to learn more about my major from a different cultural perspective! I am very optimistic that this experience will better me as a Marketing professional and shape me as a whole!
