Help Sidney's Fur Baby Eley Fight
Donation protected
**** MAY 9th UPDATE****
Hi all!
Thank you so much for helping with Eley’s journey. All of your donations are strictly going to Eley’s vet bills and all of her medications.
Eley has been diagnosed with PIMA.
“Precursor-targeted immune-mediated anemia (PIMA) is a hematologic disease in dogs that causes ineffective erythropoiesis, or non-regenerative anemia. PIMA is characterized by the immune-mediated destruction of erythrocyte precursors, and is associated with bone marrow erythroid hyperplasia and/or erythroid maturation arrest.”
We will know in the next 1-2 months if Eley responds to her medication.
So far she has no signs of Cancer and her Red blood cell count won’t grow but it is sticking at 29% ish.
She is so tough! Thank you all who have donated. You are helping our family a lot!
****UPDATE: The vets are still trying to determine if Eley has IMHA or PIMA. Testing for Cancer in bone marrow as well.****
Hi, I’m Sidney (Eley’s mama). My fur baby has been in the vet for the past 3 days now.
(Eley started seeming off, not very perky and herself. Started to then seem confused and refused to eat. The 29th Eley’s gums were pale white. We then took her to her vet, which lead to a vet emergency clinic that is treating her.)
Eley is in the stages of getting tested for Cancer or confirming she has IMHA.
“Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia, or IMHA, is an autoimmune disease in dogs in which the body attacks its own red blood cells. This can lead to very low red blood cell counts (anemia) that require multiple blood transfusions. It can also predispose dogs to forming blood clots, mostly in the lungs or in the brain.”
I am trying to be prepared for the worst and have the funds to help with treatment.
So far Eley has had 3 blood transfusions, multiple styles of blood test and on copious amounts of different medication to keep her stabilized.
**So far the treatments have ran a total of $21,000 - will continue to grow.**
Eley is the light of Chris’s and mines life.
Eley has brought so much happiness, love and kindness to our home. She is only 4 years old and I want her to have every possible chance to keep going.
Eley is fighting really hard. She is so strong and so willing to keep working towards the goal of feeling better. She is my little hero.
Thank you for your time and kindness. Anything helps.
