Help Shooting Victims’ Children, Alexa & Alex Le

My name is Hoang Bui. I live in Des Moines, Iowa. On July 28, 2022, at 11:30 pm, I had just settled in bed and received a phone call from my sister-in-law. I thought getting a late call from her was unusual, so I decided to answer. She said that my nephew Khuyen Van Le and his wife Phi Anh Le were shot and killed at their workplace [Jo's Nails and Spa, in Summersville, West Virginia.] I jolted out of bed, skeptical and repeatedly asked if she heard it correctly. I called my sister Mai, Khuyen's mother, to confirm. I listened to their heart-wrenching cries as soon as she answered the phone. My husband and I went to her house to find out more information. We went online and found news coverage of the shooting. We learned that the police had not identified the victims. From my perspective, there was hope. As time transpired, hope was diminished to no hope. Khuyen and Phi Anh's lives were tragically shortened. They left behind two beautiful children, Alexa Le, age 12, and her brother Alex Le, age 11, heartbroken families, many friends and patrons.

I have received many inquiries on how to support their children. Therefore, I am organizing this fundraiser. Your donations will be used to pay for their future education. I will set up a 529 College Savings Plan with Alexa and Alex as the beneficiaries.
