Help Shonowo Ayomikun access standard education

Considering the high level of hunger and poverty in developing countries such as Nigeria due to low agricultural productivity, a result of poor plant health management. Hence, my goal of becoming a seasoned crop protectionist and contribute to knowledge to alleviate hunger through ensuring food safety set in greatly.

However, cogitating my low financial capacity, it is difficult for me to access standard education that will put me on track to achieve this enormous goal of mine. Hence, I applied for several scholarship program but due to high level competition in various scheme, I have not been offered any scholarship yet. Nevertheless, my application was highly ranked by the European Masters Degree in Plant health selection body of which I have been offered a place in the European Masters Degree Program in Plant Health in Sustainable Cropping Systems on a self-funded basis.

It is for the above reason that I solicit your donation so I can grab this golden opportunity that will equip me with requisite skills in proper plant health management in the wake of climatic change. I believe these skills would provide me with quality educational, research and job prospects that will get me closer to the realization of my goals, become the turning point of my life as well as set me on the track of helping people leaving under extreme poverty in the nearest future.

I have shown outstanding performance in academia, leadership roles and extracurricular activities, graduating with a grade point average of 5.9 on a scale of 7.0. I achieved this average despite my engagement as a Spanish language coach in a non-governmental organization, as well as three other organization where I assumed leadership positions during this time. My attitude towards focus and persistence in achieved my goal helped become fluent in three European languages (French, Spanish and German) without ever being present in a language classroom or physically around speakers of this languages.

I have envisioned my career to be in the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations as a researcher where I could make significant contribution to international effort of ensuring sustainable increased agricultural production in developing African countries and consequently contribute to hunger alleviation.

Hence, I pledge not forget those who help me toward this cause and I would endeavor to make great use of this opportunity.

Thanks, God bless you.

Shonowo Ayomikun.
