Hola, mi nombre es Sheila, tengo 35 años y acabo de ser diagnosticada con Cancer de Mama. Hace pocas semanas empecé todo este proceso de la mano de Dios, y a través varias evaluaciones con diferentes médicos, se ha tomado la decisión de realizar una mastectomia doble. Inicialmente sería solo en el seno derecho que es donde tengo la lesión más grande y más preocupante (esto incluye varios ganglios con metástasis). Sin embargo, el seno izquierdo también debe ser intervenido ya que la Resonancia dejó ver una mancha que parece ser sospechosa. Además, para mí tranquilidad, prefiero hacerla doble para librarme de toda preocupación en el futuro. Luego de esa cirugía recibiré tratamiento de quimioterapia y más adelante podré hacerme una cirugía de reconstrucción de senos. 

Y aunque como dicen por ahí, Dios le da sus peores batallas a sus mejores guerreros, esto es algo por lo que nunca me imaginé pasar. Por suerte ha sido un proceso muy rápido para mí; tan rápido que es muy poco tiempo que he tenido para poder procesarlo. Estoy muy tranquila, con mi mente enfocada en que saldré ilesa de todo esto. Tengo un hijo de casi 5 años que adoro con mi vida y es mi motivación para no decaer, y mi esposo Adrián quien ha sido mi bastón y fortaleza en todo este proceso, siempre con palabras de apoyo, esperanzadoras y motivación. Ser diagnosticada con Cáncer de mama tan joven ha sido demasiado estresante y mucho más cuando el seguro médico solo cubre un bajo porcentaje de todos los tratamientos y exámenes por los que estoy pasando. Es por eso que hemos decidido abrir esta cuenta para pedir el apoyo y colaboración de todos ustedes que están leyendo esta publicación. De corazón agradezco cada dólar que puedan aportar para poder cubrir todos los gastos médicos que se nos vienen. A few weeks ago, I started this process with God's help, and after several evaluations with different doctors, it's been decided that I'll undergo a double mastectomy. Initially, only the right breast would be operated on, where I have the largest and most concerning lesion, which includes several lymph nodes with metastasis. However, the left breast also needs to be operated on, as the MRI showed a suspicious spot. For my peace of mind, I prefer to have both done to avoid future worries. After the surgery, I'll receive chemotherapy, and later, I'll be able to have breast reconstruction surgery.

Although it's said that God gives his toughest battles to his strongest warriors, I never thought I'd go through this. It's been a fast process, so fast that I've barely had time to process it. I'm calm, focused on coming out unscathed. I have a nearly 5-year-old son who I adore, and he's my motivation to stay strong, and my husband Adrián, who's been my rock and strength throughout this process, always with encouraging and motivating words.
 Being diagnosed with breast cancer at my age has been very stressful, especially since my medical insurance only covers a small percentage of the treatments and exams I'm undergoing.
