<div>My best friend of 42 years Shawna has been fighting Chronic Myeloid Leukemia since April 16, 2021. Unfortunately her cancer is no longer responding to her chemotherapy treatment. She has been on seven different treatments over the last three years. At the beginning of this year she found out her cancer is getting worse, as the treatments haven’t been effective.

<div>Shawna’s cancer is not curable but it IS manageable through treatment. We are not giving up hope!! She plans on traveling to MD Anderson in Texas next month for a second opinion and to see if they can help her.

<div>Shawna has not been able to work in almost an entire year because of this cancer. Her husband works to provide for the family daily and her disability helps minimally. The chemotherapy and endless appointments have depleted their savings and they need our help!
