My name is Shawna, and I’m reaching out for help as my two boys, Jaicy (11) and Jakobi (3), and I navigate an incredibly difficult time. After new management took over our apartment complex and raised the rent, I couldn’t keep up with the increase, especially with the added challenge of finding affordable childcare. We lost our home and have been living in our car, but now even that’s become uncertain as our car has started having serious issues.

 Jaicy is struggling the most with the instability. He has special schooling needs, and it’s been hard to keep him on track with remote learning while we don’t have a stable place to stay. He misses having friends and the routine that comes with a home. Jakobi is only three, so he doesn’t fully understand what’s happening, but he knows things are different. He hears me talk about money and feels the stress, even if he can’t put it into words. It’s been tough to get him around other kids or into daycare, which makes things even harder for both of us.

 We’re hoping for support with temporary housing, car repairs, food, and basic necessities. Any help would mean the world to us as we work to get back on our feet and give my boys the stability and comfort they deserve.
