Help Shaw Wildlife preserve NJ's Wildlife

Shaw Wildlife is a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Southampton, NJ. We are licensed with NJ Fish and Wildlife for the rehabilitation of most small mammals, but specialize in care of bats and skunks.

Your donation will help this small nonprofit with the funding needed to get our new facility operating at full potential. This includes the following:

• Repairs to a barn that was left on the property but was in dire need of attention. This will serve as our “bat barn” for our non-releasable bats as well as a flight enclosure for our juvenile orphaned bats prior to release. A new roof has been put on this barn, but we still need funding to concrete the ground it sits on and replace rotted T1-11 plywood. We also need to install hardware cloth along the walls for the bats to climb on.

• Repairs to our food prep/laundry area. We currently are using our founder’s personal washer/dryer to clean all the linens dirtied by our animals until we can get this room repaired. While we do have a washer/dryer combo to use in the clinic, we have leaking pipes that need to be repaired along with a leaking tub sink in this room. Until these plumbing issues are resolved we do not have a way to wash linens or clean food dishes in our clinic.

• Installation of counters in clinic area. We currently have only metal shelving units to store dry food, towels, dishes, and other supplies. We would love to have cabinets in our clinic to work at and store supplies.

• Intake/drop off area. We are in need of a drop off room on the property where people can drop animals when personnel are not on site or are busy taking care of patients. We hope to build a sunroom under a raised deck that is currently on the property to serve this purpose.

Donations also help support ongoing food expenses and medication for our patients as cleaning supplies. Any amount is appreciated. It all adds up!
