Sharon, my mother, has faced more than her share of hardships. She’s battled lupus, skin cancer, and other health problems for as long as I can remember, all while raising three children. The stress and abuse she endured from her husband over 10-15 years took a heavy toll on her health, ultimately leading to her needing a kidney transplant a couple of years ago. Throughout those years, she endured the pain and fear of living with an abusive husband—someone who not only hurt her, but also her children. When the time was right, my Sharon found the courage to leave with my two youngest siblings and start over. But the divorce left her with nothing: after 15 years of running a family business and living in a beautiful farmhouse, she was left in a run-down house with no money and a mountain of challenges.
Despite everything, Sharon has always put others first. She has devoted countless hours towards non profit organizations with churches and child abuse awareness funds. She works so hard to support her family, even as her health makes every day a struggle and never has asked for anything in return. Her car is the only way she can get to work and provide for her youngest child, but now it’s on the verge of breaking down for good. Because her credit was ruined in the divorce, and her ex filed bankruptcy so Sharon didn’t receive anything from the divorce, and she can’t get a loan or any help from the banks to finance a new vehicle. If she loses her car, she’ll lose her job and her ability to care for our family.
I’m raising money to help Sharon buy a reliable car so she can keep working, support her youngest child, and continue serving at her church every week. She never asks for anything—she only gives what she can, even when she has so little herself. I hope that, with a little help, Sharon will see how much she means to her family and community. Any support to help her get a reliable vehicle would be just what she needs to keep going, Thank you
