<div>Those that know mom know how much she's been through in her life. From being disabled at a young age from a work accident, heart attack, stroke, seizures, etc. Just since October, she lost my dad, her husband of 30 years, been hospitalized in ICU twice, being flown in a helicopter so she could be hooked up to life support, and numerous ER visits and rehab stays. She had to move to an independent living facility to accommodate now living on her own. In that same time, her insurance benefits have been cut, and several of her medications, including several life-dependent ones, are being denied by her insurance. After dad died, her income was more than halved, and her bills have only gone up. Just this week, we had to buy a new wheelchair so she can get around. She also recently had to spend $5,000 to fix her car so she could actually get to her doctor's appointments. On top of her existing medical bills and other expenses, she still has at least one surgery that is needed. <strong>Put simply, she needs help just to be able to survive.</strong> Those that have met mom know what an amazing woman she is who always does what she can to help others. <strong>Now it's her turn to ask for help.</strong> Even with her wheelchair, she needs a motorized chair so that she can get around when someone isn't available to help her. Having a motorized chair could finally allow her to get out safely on her own. We've attempted to go through her insurance but unfortunately have had no luck. This chair would make a major difference in giving her the freedom that most of us take for granted.
