<div>On <strong>02/10/2026, our lives changed unexpectedly when Sharissa, a dedicated college student at Northwestern State University, who is studying to become a veterinarian, was hit by a truck while walking to work, crossing the crosswalk near campus.</strong> What should have been a normal day quickly turned into a medical emergency.

<div>Sharissa suffered broken bones, a head injury, surgery, etc., and is currently in the hospital in recovery. Doctors say recovery will take weeks/months, and there is a long road ahead that includes medical treatment.
