Hello, my name is Shannon Wilkerson. I live in Decatur, Illinois. I'm reaching out for help during a financial hardship after I was involved in a serious car accident.

On 4-20-26, approximately 6:45 pm, I was heading home from work in Lincoln, Illinois, when a man ran through a stop sign and slammed into my car. I have been left with a broken back at my L1 vertebra, a broken sternum, and 2 broken ribs (8th and 9th ribs). I'm now in a back brace I have to wear 24/7 for the next 3 months at least. I don't know yet if I'm gonna require surgery or not. But today, my manager position was taken away from me.

My car was a total loss and wasn't worth as much as I still owed on it, so I'm now without a car. The sales position I was offered to stay with my company is in Springfield, which I can't get to without a car, nor am I able to drive right now. I can't get unemployment because I was offered a position somewhere else, and I can't get disability because they don't know for a fact I'll be unable to work for a year. I'm just in a horrible situation all because someone ran a stop sign, and now my life is crumbling down around me!!

So if people could find it in their hearts to help me get through this, I will be forever grateful!!
