Shanita is a 38-year-old woman who has faced immense challenges due to Complex PTSD, further complicated by a traumatic brain injury she suffered at age 17. Over the past two years, she has struggled to find effective treatment, often receiving care that doesn’t address the unique needs of CPTSD. Many professionals have treated her condition as if it were standard PTSD, which has led to repeated setbacks and a lack of progress. Despite three attempts at inpatient treatment, Shanita is now homeless and unable to work, making her situation even more urgent. 
 
 
 Shanita’s daily life is deeply affected by her conditions. She requires specialized medicine and medical management with safe monitoring, as well as evidence-based, trauma-informed care from professionals who truly understand CPTSD. EMDR therapy and other trauma-focused approaches are essential for her recovery, along with support for acute stress reactions and emotional regulation. Her emotional support dog, AJ, and cat, Crissy, have been her lifelines, helping her stay grounded through the toughest times. Additionally, updated fMRI scans are needed to better understand the impact of her brain injury and guide her treatment moving forward. 
 
 
 With the right support, Shanita hopes to regain stability, return to work, and live independently once again. She is determined to overcome these obstacles and become a productive member of her community.
