 As most of you may know I play dodgeball for Waterford Dodgeball Club. This year I decided to try out for the national team and somehow (and I’m still not entirely sure how), I’ve managed to earn a place on the Ireland National Foam Dodgeball Team for the World Championships in Thailand this December. At 37, I genuinely never expected to represent my country in any sport, let alone one that involves throwing foam balls at people for fun. Yet here we are.

 It’s an incredible opportunity, and I’m unbelievably proud to put on the Irish jersey and compete against teams from around the world. The only downside? Apparently getting selected doesn’t come with a free trip!

 Like many amateur sports, the players have to cover the costs themselves. That means paying for flights, accommodation, team kits, insurance, vaccines and all the other bits that come with travelling halfway across the world.
</div>

 <br>
</div>
<div>
 So, if you’re able to spare a few euros, I’d be hugely grateful. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards helping me get to Bangkok. I don’t expect to raise every cent, but every contribution gets me one step closer to making this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity a reality.
