<div>My name is Shane, others lovingly call me Shandy, Shaney, ShanDre, Dad, brother, son and friend. I am humbly sharing a very challenging time that has recently presented itself in my life. Recently, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Papillary Renal Cell Carcinoma, a type of kidney cancer that has changed my life in ways I could have never imagined.

<div>Shortly after my diagnosis, I faced a critical situation when the tumor on my left kidney ruptured, this lead to emergency surgery. The surgery resulted in the removal of my left kidney and the tumor. Unfortunately, the cancer has already spread to my pelvis, ribs, sacrum and lymph nodes, near my aorta and lungs.

<div>I am currently undergoing radiation treatments to shrink a mass roughly the size of a plum on my sacrum. I have completed 4 out of the 5 planned sessions. Within the next few weeks my care team will be developing the next stage of my cancer treatment plan. The plan will start with further testing, explorations and examinations.
