Help Shandy on His Road to Recovery

Our beloved school horse, Shandy, has been a part of the Fox Pointe Family since we opened our doors in 2020. He’s more than just a lesson horse; he’s a trusted partner, a patient teacher, and a cherished member of our barn.

Recently, Shandy suffered sudden and unexplained health episodes, leading to an urgent stay at Michigan State University’s veterinary hospital. He has already spent seven days under expert care and is expected to remain for at least a few more. After surgery we are still waiting for more answers from pathology about what is the actual cause.

While we are hopeful for his recovery, the road ahead is long, and the veterinary costs continue to rise.

Shandy has played a crucial role in our lesson program, serving as one of our more advanced school horses for riders ready to take the next step in their journey. Whether helping students refine their skills, build confidence over fences, or transition to more challenging rides, he has been an integral part of so many milestones.

Now, we have the chance to give back to him.
