<div>My name is Matthew, and I've initiated this GoFundMe campaign to support Shaimaa and Rasheed's family during their desperate time of need. Shaimaa Al Tatari and Rasheed Mattar have become friends of mine despite the realities they face in Gaza.

<div>Their journey to this point has been harrowing. Around November 10, 2023, they made the difficult decision to leave their home in northern Gaza. The dangers they faced became all too real when, on December 15, 2023, the house next to theirs was obliterated. Then, on April 10, 2024, their worst nightmare unfolded as their own home was bombed. Everything they owned is now gone forever.

<div>Now, they find themselves residing in an abandoned warehouse turned refugee camp in Rafah. The conditions are dire; food and water are scarce, and the environment is unsanitary, loud, crowded, and most importantly, unsafe.

<div>Their ultimate goal is simple: to raise enough funds to ensure the safety of their precious children, Razan (9 years old) and Shouaib (6 years old). Razan is a kind and empathetic young girl who loves helping others. Razan is young boy and filled with so much joy. He likes football and his favorite player is Ronaldo.

<div>Unfortunately since the current escalation began, prices to get from Gaza to Egypt have skyrocketed. Previously you could get into Egypt for as low as $250 per person. However currently it costs upwards of $5000 per adult and $2500 per child to escape into Egypt. $15,000 of the donations will be covering their expenses to get into Egypt. And the remaining $10,000 will help the family start a new and safe life.
