Hi! My name is Shaanti (Olivia) Smith and I'm raising funds so that I may move closer to family and begin a new chapter at a university in Massachusetts. I recently left a relationship of 5 years and it's been incredibly hard. He and I moved to Colorado 4 years ago, leaving behind my family and friends in the North East.

On 11/3/24, I admitted myself to a mental health facility in Denver, CO, due to the fact that I was suicidal. I had been unable to manage school, work, and daily needs, which led me to needing outside help. In the facility, I met with a trauma therapist who asked me where my support system is, and I told him that they're all back in the North East, where I had moved from previously. He and I spoke for quite some time and came to the conclusion that I need to be closer to family while I am in school, pursuing an MD PhD.

My main goal in life and one of my beacons of hope, would be that I want to pursue cancer research and oncology, as I am a 6-year remission cancer survivor myself. If I am able to raise enough money, I will be moving myself and my two cats, Mochi and Boogie, to Boston, MA where I will attend university. I need help with school application fees, breaking my current lease, first and last month's rent, tuition owed for the Fall semester as I dropped my classes due to mental hardship, and for overall basic moving necessities. Anything and everything helps and is more than appreciated.
