<div>Hello, my name is Sergio Cordova. I have been diagnosed with a horrible rare condition called Empty Nose Syndrome. ENS was caused by damage to the nerves in my nose in a turbinectomy surgery that was supposed to help with nasal obstruction I had been having for over a year. After the surgery I found my symptoms to have worsened, I couldn’t feel the air coming into my nose, I felt constantly suffocated and had pain below the inner corner of my right eye.

<div>This condition has affected every single aspect of my life from physical to mental. Not being able to sense and take a full breath of air has made me very anxious and depressed. I’m light headed most of the day and I have not been able to work at all. I am unable to concentrate on normal things like doing homework, socializing or just being there for my family and friends. I feel like my life is on pause.

<div>After months of suffering, I found Dr. Subinoy Das, the only doctor in the country that treats ENS. His treatment consists of PRP and Acell injections to the nose. Insurance does not cover any of the costs of the treatment, and the amount of the fundraiser would help cover the cost of the 5 necessary injections for me to get better.

<div>I have always given my 100 percent at everything I did, making it to the High Honor Roll of my school every single semester, and being the first person in my family to go to college. Those who know me can only describe me as an honest, caring and overachieving person. I want to get back to my life and have a chance to make a mark on this world. <div>Hola, mi nombre es Sergio Córdova. Fui diagnosticado con una horrible condición rara llamada Síndrome de Nariz Vacía. ENS fue causado por daño a los nervios de mi nariz en una cirugía de turbinectomía que se suponía ayudaría con la obstrucción nasal que había estado teniendo durante más de un año. Estoy mareado la mayor parte del día y no he podido trabajar en lo absoluto. No puedo concentrarme en cosas normales como hacer la tarea, socializar o simplemente estar ahí para mi familia y amigos. Siento que mi vida está en pausa.
