Help Send Wesley Tucker's Ashes To LaCosta

Donation protected

Wesley Tucker was smart, talented, but what really stood out in his life was his love of skateboarding. Wesley had many friends from his home state of South Carolina but he also had so many friends from the skateboarding community from all over the United States.

Wesley passed away unexpectedly in July 2013. So many of his friends have truly missed Wesley since his passing. Recently I discovered that Wesley's remains were buried in a pauper's grave in South Carolina.
When I saw a photo of where they buried Wesley's remains I was not only shocked but deeply saddened knowing that a friend of mine didn't receive a burial that honored and respected him.

Once realizing where my friend was buried I knew that I had to do something. The right thing to do was to do whatever was necessary to have Wesley's remains exhumed from the pauper's grave and to someplace that would honor him. So I reached out to some of my friends who also were friends of Wesley's and the plan was unanimous. We need to get Wesley's ashes to LaCosta.

Anyone in the skateboarding community knew that Wesley loved LaCosta. It's a place he spoke of often. Fellow skateboarders Marty Schaub and Marion Karr will be flying with Wesley's ashes and they will hold a special ceremony and spread Wesley's ashes at LaCosta a place which was special to his heart.

The money raised $995.00 will be paid to the Dunbar Funeral Home in Columbia South Carolina as a reimbursement for the cremation services that they provided for Wesley. The county coroner will exhume and release Wesley's remains to fellow skateboarders and friends Marty Schaub, Marion Karr, and myself, and Wesley's lifelong friends Gary Mills and Jamie Hammill will also be present. Later Marty and Marion will fly Wesley's ashes to Southern California and will take him home to LaCosta. I am starting the donation goal at $5,000. The money will be used for the funeral home reimbursement, cost of airline tickets to get Wesley to LaCosta, and any remaining money will go to a Skateboard Museum in California in memory of Wesley.

We are hoping that we can raise the donations by January 21 which would have been Wesley's Birthday. Please help get Wesley to LaCosta.

Lets get Wesley out of this paupers grave.

To Wesley the one guy that loved skateboarding more than anyone I have ever known.
