Pa Mbi Taku John Atem, a retired police officer in Cameroon was on a visit to the United States with his wife to spend some time with his grandchildren in Maryland - a dream for every successful parent.
On a beautiful sunny Saturday morning, Pa Mbi Taku was helping the son in-law to mow the lawns. Later that morning, he complained of side pain, and was taken to the emergency room at Washington Hospital Center.
The doctors told the family the unexpected, and exactly one week later, Pa Mbi Taku died. There were no early signs, and all of a sudden, the family's life changed forever!
Pa Mbi Taku was such a gentle and loving person with a good heart. His plans were to return to Cameroon and enjoy a well earned retirement.
His young children have been in the United States just for a few years and currently all students.
