<li>Muscat Dog Adoption (MDA) is a dog rescue organisation established in 2012 and run by a group of dog-loving volunteers in Muscat, Oman. MDA aims to rescue abandoned and injured dogs in Muscat. Once in MDA's care, the dogs receive necessary veterinary treatment such as vaccinations against diseases, neutering/spaying, worm and flea treatment and any other treatment that may be required.

<li>The majority of our dogs live in boarding at Spk9. We also have some in boarding at Maria’s. We have very few living in foster homes in Muscat.

<div><strong>The difficulty of animal rescue in Oman: </strong>

<li>Oman does now have a registered charity (Oman Animal Welfare Organization) but it was very recently established and a government shelter is yet to be set up.  It is therefore still very challenging rescuing dogs when we have limited resources in terms of space and funding. 
</li>

<div><strong>The difficulty of rehoming our dogs in Oman:</strong>

<li>Wadi dogs are not popular in Oman and are viewed by many as feral or just street dogs when in fact, wadi dogs make wonderful pets. They're intelligent, loyal and loving and all deserve a home and family of their own. Local adoption rates are low each year. Out of the many dogs we rescue each year, only about a handful find homes locally, most of which are puppies. Therefore, we rely on overseas adopters to provide the forever-loving homes that our dogs deserve.

<div><strong>The approximate cost of sending a dog to the UK is £1200. Below is a breakdown of the costs:</strong>

<div><strong>50 OMR </strong>export paperwork
</div>
<div><strong>65 OMR </strong>travel crate (depends on the size of the dog)

<div><strong>500 GBP</strong> pet taxi cost (approx as the price depends on the location in the UK).
