Help Send Food To Our Artisans In La Guajira

Donation protected
Our Wayuu artisans live in La Guajira, a desertic peninsula in the northern tip of Colombia. We asked our artisans directly what they are in need of due to COVID and they answered with more food and clean water, especially for those who are very ill. Food and supplies have become extremely scarce due to the city borders being closed and unemployment rates being at an extreme high.

According to a United Nations Development Program report, 30% of the population of La Guajira live below the poverty line, of which 26% live in extreme poverty with less than $1 per day. It is estimated that 28% of children under the age of five suffer from chronic malnutrition and approximately one indigenous child under the age of 5 has died from causes related to malnutrition every week during the last 2 years. Due to COVID, the situation has become much worse.

Our goal is to raise money to send boxes of non-perishable foods and clean bottled water to our artisans. With your help, we want to aid their hunger and make sure the children and families are fed and can remain healthy.

We would like to get the supplies to our families as soon as possible! We will be sure to post our story along the way and how your donations positively affect our artisans!
