Gift for Lena Arevalo's Daughters

She was pleading with friends and family to help find her mother, Lena, who had been missing for 3 days. On Monday, she left her home at 6am to catch the bus to go work and never made it there. Yesterday afternoon Lena's body was identified by her eldest daughter, Sara. Her body was found burned  near the Contorno Highway in Serra, Brazil. Darlene Gates, Lena's mother, lives in Hawaii and is in need of your help to get to Brazil so she can be with her granddaughters, great-granddaughter, and family during this very tragic time of their lives.

We are trying to get as much money together as quickly as possible. Not only will she need to purchase the airfare from Hawaii to Brazil but she will also need to stop in New York to obtain a visitor's visa from the Brazilian Consulate.

Any additional funds that are raised will be given to Lena's daughters. Lena was the mother of three girls ages 18, 16, and a 1 year old. The case is currently under investigation for the Office of Homicide and Protection for Women.
