Help Send Cassy to Q School

Donation protected
Help send Maui's own Cassy Isagawa to LPGA Q School! Cassy has an impressive record as a junior golfer and college athlete and now she's ready to take her game to the next level. Cassy will be attending the LPGA Qualifying Tournament Stage I,  August 19-25, 2019 at Mission Hills Country Club (Dinah and Palmer Courses), Rancho Mirage, CA and Shadow Ridge Golf Club, Palm Desert, CA.  We're raising funds to help Cassy cover costs associated with Q School so she can focus on her dream to be an LPGA tour player.

The $3,000 goal for this campaign covers Cassy's $2,500 entry fee for the Qualifying Tournament Stage I. Additional funds raised will help to offset Cassy's travel and accommodations expenses.

About Cassy Isagawa
My name is Cassy Isagawa. I am 25 years old, and was born and raised on the island of Maui. I started the game of golf at the age of six, but did not play competitively until the age of ten. I started the game because I was very asthmatic and overweight. My parents wanted me to participate in a sport that would keep me active and healthy, and wouldn't aggravate my asthma condition.

I wasn't excited about golfing the first four years I played. I really only participated to get musubis and hot dogs after we played! As time went on, I realized I wasn't satisfied with getting a participation trophy every year. I wanted more. I wanted the big shiny trophies the good golfers were winning. When I was 10, I realized I wanted to get better. That is when I met Brenda Rego. Brenda was my swing coach for seven years and helped me take my game to the next level. I traveled all over the state of Hawaii and to the mainland to compete, and to pursue the possibility of a college golf scholarship.

During my junior golf career on Maui, I was named the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association's Player of the Year from 2009-2011. My other accomplishments as a junior included winning the HSJGA Tournament of Champions five years in a row (2006-2010), winning the 2010 Hawaii High School Athletic Association State Championship, and winning the MIL Individual Championship in 2009, 2010 and 2011. I qualified for the USGA U.S. Junior Girls and the U.S. Women's Amateur championships, and I won the 35th Junior PGA Championship (2010), which qualified me for a spot on the 2010 Junior Ryder Cup held at Gleneagles Resort in Scotland. Our team defeated Europe 13 1/2-10 1/2.

I committed to the University of Oregon in 2011 on a full-ride golf scholarship and played all four years. During my college career I had two collegiate wins (2012: shot 7 under for 54 holes; 2014: shot 12 under for 54 holes). I was a two-time All-American and had the lowest scoring average for all four years at Oregon (73.16). Twenty out of 33 rounds were par or better my freshman year. I was ranked 13th in the nation by Golfstat, the official source for college golf scores and statistics, as a freshman.  I also qualified for the last USGA US Women's Public Links in 2014 and made it to the round of 16. I won the 2013 British Columbia Women's Amateur with 16 under for 72 holes; and won the 2012 Hawaii State Women's Golf Association Match Play Tournament. I graduated from the University of Oregon in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in General Social Science.

After graduating from college, I went to Q-School in an effort to get my LPGA tour card. A lot happened my senior year in college, and mentally I knew I was not ready to play. As a few years went by, I encountered other life challenges that took me away from playing golf competitively. Now, I'm here today, excited and eager to try again. I know that with my past accomplishments, the golfer I was is still somewhere inside of me. I still enjoy the game of golf and I feel confident that I can compete at the highest levels. With renewed drive and determination, I plan to go to Q-School this August and try again for my LPGA card.
