Hi, I’m Sekelle — a mixed-media artist and a big believer in the power of trying, even in the face of overwhelming negativity.
When my post garnered hundreds of negative comments (the post has 230 comments), not gonna lie, it hurt. I doubted myself and wondered if I should give up making art. But instead, I decided to keep trying, to keep putting myself out there. And that decision produced results:
✅ My work has been featured in 5 different exhibits
✅ I’ve had my own solo showcase
✅ I’ve placed in a juried art contest
✅ I’ve even been invited as a featured speaker to share my message
All because I tried and kept trying.
Now, my mission is bigger than the art itself. I want people to look at my work and hear the message:
“Do it scared. Try anyway. The process is where you grow.”
