<div>The Place is a much-loved community and activity centre in Sherwood, providing a welcoming, inclusive space for people of all ages to come together. From classes, creative workshops and social groups to support networks and community-led initiatives, The Place plays a vital role in reducing isolation and strengthening our local community.

</div>
<div>We are now at a crucial point in our journey.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To continue operating and to safeguard the future of The Place, we are in the process of entering into a formal lease with Nottingham City Council. Before we can sign this lease, we must take essential and responsible steps to protect the organisation, our volunteers and the community we serve.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why we need your support</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are raising funds to cover two unavoidable professional costs:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>A solicitor to review the lease in detail, ensure the terms are fair and appropriate for a community organisation, and to be present for the formal signing.
</li>
<li>A professional building survey to assess the condition of the premises before the lease is signed, helping us understand any existing issues and avoid unexpected liabilities in the future.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>These steps are not optional - they are essential to ensure The Place can operate safely, sustainably and responsibly for years to come.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a community-led, not-for-profit organisation, we do not have the reserves to cover these costs without support. Every pound raised will go directly towards securing professional advice and assessments that protect the long-term future of The Place.
</div>

</div>
<div><strong>What your donation will help achieve</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>By contributing, you are helping to:
</div>
<ul>
<li>Secure a safe and legally sound lease for our community home.
</li>
<li>Protect volunteers and trustees from unnecessary risk.
</li>
<li>Ensure transparency and accountability in how we operate.
</li>
<li>Keep The Place open, accessible and thriving for the community.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Whether you donate, share this fundraiser or spread the word, your support makes a real difference.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for helping us protect and secure The Place - a space built by the community, for the community.
