Chance to Save a Life: Ronah's Mom Needs a Kidney Transplant
Donation protected

Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,
I am reaching out on behalf of someone very dear to our team, Ronah Atwine, whose mother is currently hospitalized battling kidney failure and in urgent need of a life-saving transplant. Ronah is not just a wonderful and dedicated member of our staff, but also someone who brings warmth, care, and compassion to everyone around her. Her warm personality, kindness, and attention to detail have made her a beloved member of our team. We work overseas in a remote location where Ronah goes above and beyond to take great care of us, ensuring that we feel at home even when we are far from our own families. Anyone that has deployed to combat zones understands how important this is. Now, it's time for us to give back to her in this critical time of need.
Ronah's mother has been living with kidney failure for some time and is currently undergoing dialysis 3x weekly. However, her condition has worsened, and a kidney transplant is now her only hope for survival. Uganda does not offer this kind of surgery so the family will need to travel to India. The cost of the transplant in India is overwhelming for the family, and all of their resources are going towards the current dialysis and mounting medical expenses. In Uganda and India they must pay as they go for any and all medical expenses. They will not be able to travel to India for the transplant until they have enough money to pay for it outright. Despite her family's best efforts and sacrifices, including selling off much of their farm and property, the cost of the transplant seems out of reach, and without additional help, the chance of getting the life-saving surgery remains uncertain.
Long before I learned about her mother’s condition, Ronah and I often spoke about life in Uganda. I'll never forget when I asked her about her family, she shared, "Family is everything. Family is life. As long as they’re happy, I’m happy." Her mother has always been the anchor and backbone of her family and means the world to Ronah. With your help, we can ensure that Ronah’s mother gets the life-saving transplant she needs allowing Ronah and her siblings the precious gift of embracing their mother for many more years to come.
Your kind and generous donation will go towards:
- The kidney donor surgery and transplant: $13,500
- Dialysis treatment: $4,000/month until transplant
- Post-operative care and medications: $2,500
- Travel expenses to/from India and lodging for donor, patient, and 1x family member: $6,000
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in helping this family through an incredibly difficult period. If you’re unable to donate, we kindly ask you to share this campaign with your network.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and support.
With gratitude,
"The Team"
