Help Secure a Car for Medical Independence
Donation protected
Two years ago, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and end-stage kidney disease. Needless to say, this upended my life. I could no longer grow food for others, my passion for so long. I moved to a cottage owned by my family because I could not afford rent on my limited disability income. My home is in an isolated lake community. I am reliant on very limited public transportation and the generosity of neighbors to get to dialysis and other medical appointments. There have been times I have missed doctor's appointments because I could not get a ride.
My hope is to raise enough money to buy a car. This would give me greater flexibility to get to my treatments. It would also give me the independence to get out into the world again; to visit my family, do my own shopping, go to the gym, and live life more fully.
