Help Sean Get Back On His Feet After a Tragic Fire

Hello everyone,

My name is Sky Williams, & I’m writing this on behalf of my boyfriend, Sean Butler. On Saturday, October 4th, 2025, we experienced something no one ever expects.. a terrifying car fire. While driving down I-26, Sean’s car suddenly caught on fire with both of us & a close friend inside.

By the grace of God, we all made it out alive. But this tragedy left one of the hardest working, kindest men I know in a really tough spot.

I met Sean when he was an international student from Jamaica attending Benedict College. From the moment I met him, I knew he was special , driven, humble, & full of faith. Sean came to America at just 14 years old with one mission: to build a better life. & that’s exactly what he’s been doing.

After graduating from Benedict College, Sean began working as a Special Education Teacher Assistant at an elementary school. He’s dedicated his life to helping children with special needs learn, grow, & feel loved. Before he got his car, Sean would walk to & from work every single day…rain or shine & never once complained. That’s just who he is.

He had only owned his car for four days before the accident. As we stood safely on the side of the highway watching the car burn, He was determined to make sure we felt safe & we’re okay immediately. That’s the kind of heart he has.

This GoFundMe is to help Sean rebuild, to replace what was lost, get back & forth to work, & recover from this devastating event. Every dollar, every share, & every prayer truly makes a difference.

Sean is the kind of person who shows up for everyone around him…now it’s our turn to show up for him.
