WE WANT TO HELP OUR FELLOW SAN DIEGANS! We are a group of young, professional individuals who want to help our fellow San Diego and citizens that are elderly and particularly vulnerable to COVID-19. We want to safely bring them a few essential items they need from their local store  like, fruit, vegetables, milk, and cheese. As COVID-19 has thrown our world into panic mode, our elderly community is being left behind. They are urged to maintain isolation, yet are struggling to find essential everyday items. We are young professionals that have the time and resources to safely bring these items straight to their homes. You can help in one of three ways: 1) Donate to this site. We want everything to be completely free to those we are trying to serve. 2) Think about who you know that could use this service. Who do you know that is particularly vulnerable to this virus and should stay home? Wouldn't it be tragic if someone was afflicted by this disease simply because they needed food? 3) Spread the word, share this service and campaign with your network. We are so grateful for these members of our community and it's so easy for us to help them. It is our privilege to do a few simple things and make a big difference to them to help get through this surprising and life altering time. Fund Distribution:

We want all of our donors to be notified about the distribution of our funding for this campaign.

Our campaign and grass roots project idea was envisioned by a member of our volleyball community. He encountered an elderly gentleman on Monday morning standing in line at a local grocery store simply for a single bunch of bananas. This simple encounter moved him so much that he reached out to our volleyball group to ask for help. We all jumped on the opportunity immediately seeing that we could make a difference in our community.

Currently our funding is going to purchasing a variety of groceries and toiletries that are acquired through multiple distribution channels. Each request we receive has special item requests at which point our drivers will go out and search grocery stores until they find all of the items that they need. We are reimbursing our drivers for the IRS rate per mile, however most if not all of them choose to forgo their reimbursement and are donating their gas to the cause, allowing us to re-allocate our funding to more. Many of these individuals are not only are paying out of pocket, but they are people who have been laid off in the past month or temporarily out of work due to the COVID-19 crisis and volunteering their time to supporting their communities.

I want to assure all of our donors that every last dime is going to our senior community. We are utilizing the funding to purchase groceries and toiletries for all of our requests and will continue to do so until this epidemic calms down and our senior community feels safe enough to go back out into the world. If there is left over funding when this is all over we will be distributing the remaining funds to Non-profit organizations that service our senior community. We are still in discussion as to which non-profits we will be allocating the remaining funds to and will update you all once the decision has been made.

** I want to note that Joshua Daguman, the Treasurer for Stay Home San Deigo is withdrawing the funds directly and distributing them accordingly as listed above. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
