Scott Gremillion has been a master colorist and stylist in the Acadiana area for over 20 years. In addition to being a caretaker for his 80 year old mother, he is active in his community often working anonymously to help others with no thought of self promotion or reward.
On Wednesday, December 27 he was severely injured doing repairs to his in New Iberia home and was diagnosed with a spiral fracture in his right humerus and broken ribs. After surgery and spending three days recuperating in the hospital he returned home to convalesce. I first heard about the accident January 3rd, and he hadn’t really reached out to anyone for help, but thankfully some very good friends have been by often to checked on him and help him with daily care. When I saw him on January 4th, he was nearly in tears he was so worried about WHAT he was going to do. As you can imagine, its very difficult to care for yourself, much less work at your profession as a hairstylist, in pain and with only your non dominant arm functioning. In addition, he’s very worried about the mounting bills. Many of you know what it’s like to be self employed, there is NO paid sick leave, if we don’t work, we don’t make money. The soonest he’ll be back to work is 90 days if he heals well and PT is effective. In the mean time, he still needs to pay household expenses which average $3000 monthly. So any donation is VERY appreciated, PLEASE help our beautiful, wonderful friend!
