Hi everyone,
Last summer my dad Scott went through a very painful treatment start up with a immunotherapy that was our hail Mary of cancer treatments. For the first 6 months and 2 catscans it seemed to be working, by month 9 and a new scan his cancer has grown at a rapid rate, has spread to new areas or multiplied in the same area. They stopped immediately stopped treatment. On my son's 6th birthday my dad spent the morning in the ER with extreme pain around the area of his liver/pancreas where the cancer is the worst. They did another scan and found even more growth since the one 2 weeks ago. They also found a blood clot in one of the veins in his pancreas and pneumonia in both lungs, he is clear of that now.

Well now what? He was contacted by a Dr. at OHSU about doing a treatment called TILL Therapy, where they go in remove a cancer filled tumor and send it to a lab to remove all of the tcells from it and turn them into basically cancer killing machines, they will do 7 days of chemotherapy before they get put back into his system to start attacking the tumors, he will get another round of medication called interlucin 2 that is like a fertilizer to these new cells and the more he can get the stronger they get. He will have to be hospitalized for weeks and my mom and him will have to live in Portland for up to several weeks to a month or more after the procedure. The procedure has a 33% chance of complete remission or disease slow down, which is better then the 0% he has now, so he is going for it.

This is the biggest risk, gonna be the worst he will probably ever feel during treatments, but if he can get through it with his strength, mental will power, and the help and support of his family and friends, he will survive!! If you could all add and extra prayer or thought for him right now, he could really use it.

He just had the surgery yesterday to remove a melanoma tumor from his neck to get sent away for the Tills to be made, now he is recovering and waiting to go back up for his procedure.

My parents are going to be living in Portland within an hour from OHSU and away from the comforts of home for 5weeks if not longer, they need all the help they can get to find a place to live that is close to the hospital, stores, places to eat and the kicker is my dad can't be left alone for any time for safety so it has to be easy for her to get in and out of. They need so much help!

Thank you all so much!
