Help Schaub Family Farm Rebuild

It was 10:15 on the morning of April 5, 2018. I saw the black smoke from the top of Upper Butcher Road on my way to work. I called my sister Mystica because she would know where the fire was, she always knows. My heart sunk when she answered in tears, “Yes, it’s our farm!”

She wasn’t home, she was at the doctor’s office with her daughter. We stayed on the phone my entire way to her house. As I passed the center of town I was able to follow one of the fire trucks to her house. She begged me to help the animals out of the barn.
She was still on the phone with me as I raced in her driveway and ran to the barns. I had to tell her the barn was already gone, I can’t help the animals. I felt defeated and she kept asking, what do you mean it’s gone?
My sister, Mystica, is one of the strongest women I’ve ever known. She works tirelessly EVERY SINGLE DAY on her farm and raising her family. She hits the ground running EVERY SINGLE MORNING. She keeps trucking EVERY SINGLE AFTERNOON. And she goes to bed exhausted EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.
Watching her lose her “babies” brought her down. It hurt her heart. She felt helpless as she watched the multiple fire departments tear through her property to save the farm from additional damage. She didn’t deserve this.
Charlie is THE hardest working man I know. After working 60+ at his “normal” job, he comes home to do all the things on his farm. And not only that, but he will ALWAYS be there for others. Always.
Charlie went to work the second his feet hit the ground. He ran straight to his burning barns. He assessed the situation. Charlie didn’t hesitate as he started moving farm equipment and used machines to assist the fire department in stopping the fire. This is his farm and he will do anything to save it. He didn’t deserve this.
Charlie and Mystica work so hard on their farm every single day. Can you imagine their devastation as they watched it burn to the ground knowing all their animals inside are gone. It was unbearable to watch.

THEY. DIDN’T. DESERVE. THIS.

Many of you have asked what you can do. Let me tell you this, Charlie and Mystica will ask nothing of you. That’s the proud farmer in them. But, I don’t have that pride. I am asking, no, I’m begging, for all of you: their family, their friends, and even strangers to PLEASE help support the Schaub Family after this tragedy. Help Schaub Family Farm rebuild.
