Help Tendring Eldercare Survive CoVid-19.
A little about who we are:
We are a charity that runs the last independent Day Centre in the Tendring area, dedicated solely to the elderly. specialising in helping those suffering with loneliness and dementia. We provide our clients with a day filled with activities and entertainment.
The current situation:
Unfortunately, in order to protect our very vulnerable clients from the current CoVid-19 outbreak, we have been forced to close our doors with immediate effect, which has completely stopped our income. We are funded through charitable donations and the fees paid by our clients to attend and avail of our services. We expect that we will need to maintain this closure for at least the next 3 months.
The only way we are going to survive this is with your help. We are in privately rented accommodation which needs to be paid for, as well as various other expenditures. The easy option would be to close down the charity. However, we are painfully aware that once the current threat of CoVid-19 passes, our clients will need our services more than ever before and we desperately want to still be here to do that. We hope to fight back and come back better and stronger, to prevent our lovely clients from suffering any more loneliness and isolation than is necessary, during this bleak time. We need to be here, waiting to look after the most vulnerable members of our community, as soon as we can. To that end, please donate whatever you can afford, to help us to keep going.
More about the charity:
Tendring Eldercare has been serving the community for almost 40 years. We have assisted shower facilities on site as well as hairdressers and chiropodists by request. Throughout the year we hold day trips across Tendring at local Cafes, Garden Centres, Clacton Pier and a Beach Hut in Holland-on-Sea.
We have an in house chef who prepares fresh meals, using locally sourced produce and butchers' meat to create nutritionally balanced, healthy meals for our clients, as for some clients, this is the only meal they receive all day.
As well as our Day Centre we hold Luncheon Clubs, Shopping Trips, Events and Day Trips.
Please help us to support the most vulnerable and isolated members of our community, long after the threat of CoVid-19 has gone, by donating what you can. They have never needed your help more than now.
