Slacklines Hostel.
It was never meant to make much money, it was meant to be a haven for backpackers to unwind in nature whilst staying in tropical paradise.
It was meant to be built by backpackers, for backpackers, to share their love, experience and adventure together... and it was doing a great job!
I (Jon) have loved every minute of this dream project.
A lot of blood, sweat and *beers* went in to the making and evolution of this idea, and everything was going swimmingly... until... Covid19 came along, and smacked us straight in the face!
We immediately had to close the Hostel, ask our guests to leave, and were put in to Lockdown. Thailand closed its borders to all. Our Income dropped to zero and will stay this way until.. (When?!)
Unable to survive in Koh Lanta without any income, and with no end in sight, I returned to the UK to try and find some work. But I underestimated the Covid implications. The job market here is devastated.
Now we are at the point in time when I should be returning to the 'land of smiles', preparing the Hostel for another great High Season, but here I am in the UK, unable to return until the restrictions are lifted and I can go home to Lanta. Unable to find work in my usual areas of expertise, due to massive redundancies and financial impact on my previous employers, I am facing a financial nightmare that I seem to be unable to climb out of.
This is why I have finally succumbed to asking for some help... I cant do this on my own any more.
There are three main things I need to cover, in order to save Slacklines.
Legal costs of completing the 2019 season
Land rental costs
Legal costs to keep Slacklines going forward
If these can be met, Slacklines will be saved! If not, I will work my ass off to save up and cover the costs myself, but I don't think I could physically save the amount of money I need to, by the time it is due. I have already spent every last penny of my savings, and am already at my limit of borrowing.
If you can help, it would be beyond amazing, Me, Jack's Friend and all others who love and cherish Slacklines will be forever grateful.
